Putting together the pieces for an intact solution

In the process of treating wounds there are many pieces that must come together to create an environment for healing.   Having the correct knowledge and tools to assist you in this endeavor is crucial.  BLACKBURN’S would like to help you put the pieces of the puzzle together for better wound healing.  We are offering a one day symposium that will provide you with a didactic component to help you gain the knowledge as well as a hands-on component to experience some of the tools that are available for use.

This unique symposium will offer Continuing Educational Credits (CEUs) that day as well as numerous free on-line CEU programs.  A self-guided educational experience, in which some of the pieces of the puzzle will be addressed in the afternoon.  In addition to the educational component, there will be an opportunity to see and feel the actual products available. Finally, when you complete the self-guided tour you will receive a gift bag of tools that will serve as a reference aid in your endeavors.

Who should attend?  This event is for DONs, Wound Care Team members, Lymphedema Therapists, Nurses, Physical Therapists, and all health care professionals providing skin and wound care in Acute, Long Term Care, Rehab facilities, Wound Care Clinics, and Home Health Agencies.

Continuing Educational Credits  This event will offer Continuing Educational Credits (CEUs) for various sections of the symposium.  Attendees must register in advance and attend all sections to be eligible.

  • Proper Preparation of Wound Bed
  • Pressure Ulcer Reduction and Elimination
  • Importance of NPWT for Wound Treatment
  • Proper Use of Compression for Lymphedema  

 12:00pm - 1:00pm  Lunch  -  Vendor Exhibits Open

 1:00pm - 4:00pm    Hands-on Learning

     Self-guided experience in 7 wound care components:

  • Wound care assessment
  • Wound care documentation
  • Moist wound healing principles
  • Dressing choices & adjunctive therapies
  • Support surfaces and pressure relief
  • Nutrition
  • Edema, Lymphedema & compression

As you work through these topics you will be collecting puzzle pieces toward your tool gift bag as well as gaining information of various programs for on-line CEUs.

Vendor exhibits will be open all day to provide time to collect information on products.

Seating is limited...deadline to register is October 6, 2014

 Attendee fee is $25 which includes CEUs, handouts, continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Parking is free.
